Before working with Giancarlo I had tried several guitar teachers, but none of them seemed to work for me. Giancarlo has been an absolute blessing for my 12-year-old daughter, Emilia. She has been learning with Giancarlo for over a year now, and not only have her technical skills improved so much, but her self-esteem has also grown and she has learned how to deal with setbacks and times when she is hard on herself. Giancarlo has been like a mentor and teacher in one, and I think that is what makes a great teacher — someone who sees your strengths beyond the technical aspect. Giancarlo works with the whole person and provides an environment in which Emilia thrives in so many ways. He empowers her as a musician and a human being, and she is still very eager to continue on this journey with him.

I have wanted to play guitar for over a decade and in that time I’ve had a few different teachers, but it only lasted a few sessions because I lost interest, got frustrated, or felt like I wasn’t understanding the concepts well. Since I started working with Giancarlo, I have greatly improved my dexterity, strumming patterns, chords, and perspective of what it takes to play an instrument. He takes this big, seemingly complex world and breaks it down into digestible, easy-to-understand pieces and frameworks that I can practice on my own. YouTube never gave me the accountability, encouragement, patience, and support I needed. Giancarlo has made the mystery feel reachable and brought a real sense of enjoyment to the learning process. I highly recommend him because he’s a phenomenal teacher, and I enjoy every single lesson.

Giancarlo is the best music teacher I’ve ever had and I’ve seen incredible results. He began by understanding my goals — something no other music teacher had asked me. I was classically trained and good at copying, but not creating. He helped me break things down clearly and can explain the same concept in different ways until it clicks. YouTube never did. In just the first month, something I used to struggle with became my warm-up. My dexterity, music theory, tempo, rhythm, and confidence improved. I can now play for other people, which is something I had never been able to do before. What he teaches is transferable to ukulele too. I cannot recommend Giancarlo enough from the bottom of my heart.

The guitar lessons with Giancarlo have been particularly good in that he has taken the effort to understand what works well for my child, Rumi. He is not just some robotic, technical teacher, although his technical skills are fantastic. He connects with Rumi and understands his personality. This allows him to tailor the lessons around what works best, even on a lesson-by-lesson basis. Rumi genuinely enjoys the lessons and respects the way Giancarlo understands and treats him. The guitar lessons have truly been fantastic for Rumi and for us as his parents, and a highlight of each week.

Gian, thank you for everything you’ve done for Aiyansh and our family. Your passion for music has brought us closer together through mini concerts and his lessons. He never showed interest in an instrument until he met you, and now he can’t get enough. We love the weekly concerts and watching him learn under your mentorship brings us so much joy. Bringing you into our lives was the best decision; we trust you completely to nurture his talent and help him play effortlessly from the heart.

What I’ve really enjoyed about learning with Giancarlo is how dynamic and fun the sessions are. Right from the start, I was able to focus on what I personally needed — rhythm and strumming — without getting lost in technical terms. Giancarlo is a very skilled teacher. I went into the lesson having no idea what to expect and he guided me through each step of learning one of my favorite songs in a way that felt reachable and fun. Gian was such a helpful mentor when I was taking the Trinity Exam. He made custom backing tracks for me to practice with, provided amazing feedback, and was available almost every day to help me improve and prepare. Practicing together was not only easy but so much fun, and it really helped me improve my technical skills on the guitar.

Giancarlo is one of the best music teachers I have ever had, and I have tried many. Looking back at the progress I made over four months, I can only be grateful to have learned ukulele with him. Gian is a fantastic, talented teacher and skilled musician who goes out of his way to accommodate my requests and adapt to my preferences. Lessons are always interesting, versatile, and rich, combining professional technique with fun. I always impatiently look forward to the next lesson — the best part of my week.
