What people say about Guitarlo?

Before working with Giancarlo I had tried several guitar teachers, but none of them seemed to work for me. I often left the sessions feeling overwhelmed, thinking that there was so much to learn and that I was too old to catch up. It felt like my potential was being overlooked, and I needed something more empowering and motivating.

Fortunately, Giancarlo's approach was different. He recognized and nurtured my existing strengths, making each lesson interesting and exciting. What I appreciate the most is that everything I learn can be immediately applied to my own musical work. It's not about waiting for months of practice to achieve something; it's about seeing progress right away.

Within just three months of taking classes with him, I quickly realized that my dreams were within reach. I went from struggling to recall basic techniques to seeing noticeable improvements in my playing speed and fluidity Previously, I felt limited in my songwriting abilities. I would spend hours trying to figure out rhythms and sounds, often feeling frustrated and stuck with the same strumming patterns and chords. But under Giancarlo's guidance, everything has flipped upside down. Now, I have a tangible toolbox of techniques to create different atmospheres and moods. I can effortlessly shift the mood of a song while maintaining its musical structure and rhythm.

Instead of forcing myself to adhere to a fixed strumming pattern, I now play freely, exploring different possibilities. Interesting and unique strums emerge naturally, and I can discover new things without straining myself. It's a game-changer.

One aspect I love about Giancarlo's teaching is that everything I learn is directly relevant to my musical journey. He has an incredible ability to support whatever challenges or questions I have, even beyond just playing the guitar. For example, learning how to do a proper soundcheck before a concert has been invaluable. I feel self-empowered and understand my preferences and needs. I have a clear idea of how to achieve the sound I want, rather than relying on others' whims.

The most surprising thing for me has been the unexpected growth and expansion I've experienced. It's not a linear progression based on passing grades or learning specific pieces. It's more like a spider's web, where each area of improvement connects and enhances the others. This holistic approach supports my creativity, which is what truly nourishes me. I find much more satisfaction and interest in creating my own music from diverse and intriguing spaces than simply playing someone else's compositions.

Overall it has been a transformative experience for me. I encourage anyone looking to unlock their true musical potential, regardless of age or background, to embark on this incredible journey with Giancarlo. You'll be amazed at what you can achieve.

Giancarlo has been an absolute blessing for my 12-year-old daughter, Emilia. She has been learning with Giancarlo for over a year now, and not only have her technical skills improved so much, but her self-esteem has also grown, and she has learned how to deal with setbacks and times when she is hard on herself. Giancarlo has been like a mentor and teacher in one, and I think that is what makes a great teacher - someone who sees your strengths beyond the technical aspect.

Giancarlo's exceptional talent as a guitarist himself is truly inspiring. He is not only a fantastic teacher but also an amazing performer. I highly recommend you go and watch him perform if you have the opportunity. His passion and skill shine through in his performances, and it's truly a treat to witness his passion combined with his exceptional skills on the guitar.

Giancarlo works with the whole person and provides an environment in which Emilia thrives in so many ways. He empowers her as a musician and a human being, and she has learned so much from him. She is still very eager to continue on this journey with him.

So initially, I was gifted some guitar lessons from my wife as a birthday present and my intention was to just kind of learn a few more chords, understand more techniques and develop a better understanding using the guitar.

What I didn't expect was for how much Giancarlo improved me. From just 10 lessons, I went from knowing a few chords to being able to write my own songs within a tight rhythm and clean chords. My own improvement has actually really surprised myself. That's a complete testament to my teacher. He far exceeded any expectation in terms of techniques and the exercises he gave me to to improve were perfect for what I wanted to achieve. The biggest compliment I can say, as someone who has never been a fan of being mentored or taught and have always prided myself on being self-taught in most things I've done, is that Giancarlo understood me, my needs and expectations and tailored the whole experience around that.

With so much information and online stuff these days, that gift of being able to tune the experience around the individual is so undervalued and so important to development. It just cannot be learned through YouTube!

I've been taking guitar lessons with Giancarlo and I just wanted to share a little bit about my experience. I have wanted to play guitar for over a decade and in that time I've had a few different teachers and it's only really lasted a few sessions because I lost interest or I got frustrated, or I felt like I wasn’t understanding the concepts well, which I took on as my own fault. And now I realize it really is important to have someone there to support the learning process, who knows how to teach and it wasn't until I met Giancarlo that I realized what it takes to be a great teacher.

Since I started working with Giancarlo, I have been able to greatly improve my dexterity and my fingers, the comfort of strumming patterns, learning different chords and just a greater perspective of what it takes to play an instrument. What I love about Giancarlo is that he takes this big seemingly complex world of playing an instrument, and he breaks it down into really digestible and easy-to-understand pieces and frameworks that I can then practice on my own.

And I thought, for a long time, that I could probably go on YouTube and watch a few tutorials, and learn on my own and I could save some money. I do not recommend this for anyone who thrives in a space where they're held accountable, where they're encouraged just like me, I really needed that level of support in order to progress and I am already seeing so much improvement and it's just a paradigm change for me where it was a mystery, how to finger pick or create my own strumming patterns and now the mystery has been unveiled because Giancarlo has been able to not only explain that to me but his patience and his encouragement has allowed me to stick with it and has brought in a real sense of enjoyment for the learning process because it's all about the journey and I look forward to continuing to work with him and develop myself in this particular instrument and who knows? It could lead to playing other instruments or writing my own music one day, which is what I intend to do.

So for anyone who is even just a little bit curious about playing the guitar and feels like they could really benefit from support I highly, highly recommend Giancarlo because he's a phenomenal teacher and I just enjoy every single lesson with him and I look forward to seeing where all of this beautiful work takes me.

I've been taking classes with Giancarlo for about a month and a half and I really wanted to share a few words on my experience because I genuinely think that he's the best music teacher I've ever had and I've seen really incredible results. When Giancarlo and I first started working together, something that he really wanted to understand were my goals. My goals were playing music and I thought that was very unusual because I have had so many music teachers in my lifetime and not a single one of them has ever asked me that.

I've been classically trained for many years and I am good at copying and pasting but not so much at creating. Coming up with something from scratch, coming up with an interesting strumming pattern or just having an idea in my head and being able to bring that to life. So once he helped me to figure that we that really set the tone for the rest of our classes. He really took the time to break things down and break things down really clearly because Giancarlo knows how to teach.

He knows how to explain things so if you don't get it the first time, he doesn't just repeat the same words back at you. He will think of five different ways of how to explain the same thing so that you get it, so that it integrates and he breaks it down so that I am slowly able to keep building and adding on to everything that I'm learning each class until it sounds full, until it sounds interesting and sounds cool.

I've tried learning a lot of these things myself on YouTube before but it just never clicked. It just never did but once I started taking classes with Giancarlo things started to make sense for the first time because he really takes the time to understand your style of learning and your goals but he also understands how to teach and that really was a game changer because when I was learning on YouTube I not only didn't quite understand what I was doing, I was also picking up a lot of bad habits along the way but when you have a teacher like him, he really tailors every class to you and your pace and your level. In just the first month of classes with Giancarlo, something that I used to struggle with a lot has now become my warm-up.

That's crazy and not just that but my dexterity with my fingers has improved my knowledge of music theory, my ability to strum my tempo rhythm, everything really but I think the most rewarding thing for me is that my confidence has improved a lot as someone who has always been quite shy playing music for other people. Now I can just take it out and play for people and that's amazing.

Something I've never been able to do before and I really have Giancarlo to thank for that because I don't think that I would have reached that place of confidence being able to play for other people if I didn't have his guidance and his support. The super cool thing as well is that things that he's taught me are transferable so I can not only apply this to guitar, I can also apply this to ukulele which is actually my choice of instrument. So if you're for a guitar teacher or even a ukulele teacher, I cannot recommend Giancarlo enough from the bottom of my heart.

The guitar lessons with Giancarlo have been particularly good in that he has taken the effort to understand what works well for my child, Rumi.

That is, he is not just some robotic, technical teacher, although his technical skills are fantastic, but rather he has really put the effort in to connect with Rumi and understand his personality.

This has allowed Giancarlos to tailor the lessons around what works best for Rumi, even on a lesson-by-lesson basis. This is also a big part of the reason why Rumi genuinely enjoys the lessons as he respects the way Giancarlo understands him and treats him as such.

The guitar lessons have truly been fantastic for Rumi, and us his parents, and a highlight of each week!

I feel very blessed to have GC as my online teacher and believe that he is the very best guitar teacher that I could wish for, as well as also being a great human being too! Over these past months I have progressed with my playing so much thanks to GC’s brilliant guidance.

GC is always totally focussed on my individual needs and musical desires and goes above and beyond to help me progress from wherever I am at. He is always kind, patient and pushes me just enough to meet my edge.

GC is a very talented and experienced musician himself and teaches in a way that is really easy to understand and follow, and not at all confusing. I absolutely love my guitar lessons with GC and can’t wait for Saturday mornings to come around.

You will be so happy you chose GC as your guitar teacher!

Giancarlo is one of the best music teachers I have ever had and I have tried many! As I look back at the progress I made over the past 4 months, I can only be grateful to have had the chance to learn the Ukelele with him.

The lessons are always very interesting, versatile and rich, combining both professional technique and fun elements! As the learning continues, I always impatiently look forward to the next lesson, the best part of my week! »

Giancarlo has a remarkable talent for keeping the lessons fun, entertaining, and engaging while still staying focused on the task at hand .

Before I started learning from him, I was facing numerous challenges with my strumming, tempo, and overall technique. However, he provided me with specific exercises and methods to enhance these areas, and it made a tremendous difference.

I now have a much deeper understanding of how the guitar works, and my strumming has improved significantly
